7 Causes of Penis Itching After Sex
Discomfort or itching following sexual intercourse is a common issue that many men experience. The reality is that there are a number of conditions that can contribute to penis itching after sex. Some are relatively minor and can be addressed quickly, while others require medical attention. Today, we’ll examine seven different causes of penis itching after sex and explain what you can do to protect your (and your partners’) well-being if you experience penis irritation:
Allergies
A relatively small number of people have an allergy to latex, and using latex condoms can cause the skin to become reddened and itchy. Severe latex allergies may even cause swelling of the penis and/or the throat. Individuals with latex allergies should consider non-latex condom alternatives. In addition, some lotions and lubes may also spark allergic reactions.
Yeast Infections
Though more common in women, men can also contract yeast infections. Regular symptoms of yeast infections include:
- Itchiness or irritation
- Swelling or redness
- Discharge
- Discomfort during intercourse
- Pain during urination
Doctors can use anti-fungal medications to treat yeast infections effectively.
Balanitis
Balanitis is an inflammation of the skin on and under the foreskin. It can cause itchiness, redness, discharge, pain during urination, and a foul smell. A yeast infection or poor hygiene may lead to the development of balanitis.
Skin Conditions
A variety of skin conditions like eczema, psoriasis, and jock itch can cause itching on and around the pubic region. Some skin conditions are permanent, but can be managed effectively with medication. Others, like jock itch, can be cured fairly quickly.
Scabies & Pubic Lice
Scabies, which are small mites that burrow under the skin, and pubic lice can generate intense itching sensations on and around the genitals. Though not technically STDs, they are often transferred through sexual contact.
Ingrown Hairs/Acne
Small red bumps on and around the penis may become inflamed and itchy. Sometimes, these bumps are merely ingrown hairs and/or acne, which should heal on their own over time. Note, though, several common STDs can appear very similar to both ingrown hairs and zits.
STDs
Several common STDs have been known to cause penile itching. They are:
- Gonorrhea
- Chlamydia
- Herpes
- HPV
- Trichomoniasis
Some STDs may cause itching to occur from within the penis and make sex and urination painful. Chlamydia and gonorrhea are good examples of these symptoms. Others, like herpes, will form small red bumps that can become inflamed and itchy. Lastly, STDs like trichomoniasis can lead to foul-smelling discharge.
It’s important to remember that STD symptoms may dissipate after a period of time. This does not mean the infection has left your system. Furthermore, STD symptoms can take weeks or months to manifest after initial contraction. In other words, it’s unlikely that you’ll notice symptoms of an STD immediately.

my boyfriend say is penis itches every time we have sex but we use condoms and ive used my mouth too should i be worried?
ReplyItching in the genital area can have various causes, including sexually transmitted infections (STIs), irritation, or allergies. Although condoms can help reduce the risk of STI transmission, they do not entirely eliminate the risk.
It’s possible that your boyfriend may be experiencing an allergic reaction to the condom material, such as latex, or to the lubricant used on the condom. It could also be a reaction to personal care products like soaps, shower gels, or laundry detergents. Additionally, it’s possible that the friction or pressure from sexual activity could be causing irritation.
If the itching persists or worsens, it’s important for your boyfriend to consult a healthcare provider to determine the cause and receive appropriate treatment. It’s also a good idea for both of you to get tested for STIs to ensure that there are no underlying infections that need to be addressed. Open communication and taking preventive measures, such as using condoms consistently and correctly, can help maintain your sexual health.

ReplyWen i put my dick in her pussy my dick started to burn bad now the shaft wen i get hard it hurts bad.she was gone for a day went back home and i thinj ahe cheated
ReplyYou definitely have an infection, most likely and STD. Get tested ASAP, so you can also get treatment to revlied those symptoms!
ReplyWhen I use condom it scratches my pinus at the top what should I do
ReplyGiven the materials most condoms are made from, the condition you describe could be a reaction to the lubricant used but is more likely an STD, with symptoms flaring due to the condom. Get tested as soon as you can, to rule that out, or get treated. If your results are negative, try another type or brand of condom. Condom makers try to use “neutral” formula but people can have reactions. Some people are even alergic to “latex” products, most commonly latex gloves. You can try another brand, or even a “non-lubrincated” version to see if that helps.
ReplyI have really failedto know my genital have some skin bumps, itch and redish
ReplyWe hear that a lot and it’s actually quite common. The human body relies on pain, redness, rash and onther “changes” to call our attention to issues. Defintely get tested soon, since most STD are treatable today and you can get feeling better soon.
